Jack Ryan is based on the character created by bestselling author Tom Clancy. It a global action thriller set in the present day. The original story follows a young Jack (Chris Pine) as he uncovers a financial terrorist plot. In the film, prior to the original Jack Ryan stories, Ryan is a young stockbroker who works for a billionaire in Moscow before joining the CIA. When the billionaire he is advising frames him for a terrorist plot and kidnaps his wife (Keira Knightley), Ryan now, must race against time to clear his name, stop the plot, and save his wife.
The film is littered with some genuinely tense and exciting action sequences. There is much to enjoy in this easy-to-like thriller that race to its heart-pounding and spectacular conclusion.
